  • It is absolutely acceptable for you to feel overwhelmed and scared. These feelings are natural, and we understand that you have many big feelings right now. Just try to stay calm.
  • Don’t make a rash decision. A quick decision could result in doubt later on. Make sure you understand all of your options.

Here are a couple more notes of quick advice to help you and your situation in this moment:

  • DO:
    • Try to listen to your girlfriend. A lot of times women really want to talk about their feelings. Just as you are feeling stressed, she is feeling that way and then some. Just try to give her some support and listen to what she has to say. Please remember, we can always help her. We can educate and inform her of all of her options in a safe, no judgment, no cost environment.
    • Talk about it. You have feelings too. Feel free to be open and honest about how you’re feeling too.
  • DON’T:
    • Walk away and leave her alone. You are just as involved in this decision as she is.
    • Make a rash decision without being informed and educated with all of your options.

The Pregnancy Help center has resources to help you and your situation. We understand that your situation is unique and we are here to serve you. We have men who are here and available to talk to you about your specific situation.
